Sure, the Margaret River region is largely known for its wine. But for those of you that prefer a beverage with hops, the South West has a cracking craft beer scene that’s equally as impressive.
It’s only fitting that Cabin Fever Festival pays homage to the cold one, so we’ve partnered with some of our favourite breweries and beer-drinking establishments in the Margaret River and Busselton regions to make sure equal love is given to our grain based beverages.
Read on for a list of what’s brewing for this winter…
Grape Vs Grain
Grapes and Grains make friends this winter, when Swings Taphouse pair both wine and beer with each course of their 6-course feast style dinner. The beers are brought to you by south west craft beer royalty, Rocky Ridge, while the wine served will be primo drops from Swings & Roundabouts.
Brewer’s Block Party
Get ready for a battle of the brews. Ten South West breweries go head to head with ten experimental, one-off winter brews. Rock up and sip your way through a tasting paddle of brews while listening to some sweet beats and chomping on snacks by the team at the Fire Station.
Eagle Bay Sunday Sesh
Your Sunday is sorted. Head to Eagle Bay Brewing Co on July 28thfor cosy fires, wood-fired pizza, vino and good beer. Expect a lazy winter afternoon, warmed by good vibes, good humans and tasty brews.
Backyard Brewing Tournament Awards
Home brewers, listen up! The iconic home brewing battle is back. Backyard Brewers from around WA are invited to concoct the perfect brew and enter it into the competition, which will be judged at the tournament awards during Cabin Fever. If you want to head to the awards, hit up the Brewhouse to reserve a table now, as this free event fills up.
Blazing Brews is back – bonfire, blues, brews and all. Get toasty by the open-pit fire, knock back a brew or dance to a line-up of red hot live music. The Farm’s epic brews are on tap all night, and there’ll be a BBQ worth staining your flanno over by legends at Burnt Ends.
The Cheese Making Party
What’s better than cheese? Cheese washed in beer, duh. Craft your own beer-washed camembert cheese with the help of Yallingup Cheese Co. Kick back afterwards with a share-style lunch, plus more cheese. And beer.
